Ketamine, MDMA, methamphetamine and 2C-B found in pills expected to contain only 2C-B

Reason for concern: Unexpected detection

Three pills were separately tested, and all had distinct markings of 2C-B but were found to contain a mixture of other drugs in them.

What is 2C-B?

2C-B (4-Bromo-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine) is a synthetic psychedelic drug that has both
psychedelic and stimulant properties.

  • Onset can take up to 2 hours
  • The effects typically last from four to eight
    hours
  • Effects are dose specific, even a few milligrams
    can intensify effects
  • The effects of mixing with other drugs −
    including prescribed medications − can be
    unpredictable and dangerous.

Risks

  • Combinations of drugs increase risk of harm and can have unpredictable effects
  • People may experience a mix of stimulant, empathogen, dissociative, hallucinogenic effects
  • Effects may vary due to the unpredictable nature of drug mixtures
  • Effects can differ depending on the individual and interact with medications

Harm reduction advice

  • Avoid using alone
  • Start low, go slow
  • Mixing substances with other substances or medications can increase risk
  • Substance use can increase the risk of overheating so stay cool and hydrated
  • Carry naloxone, synthetic opioids could be in any batch
  • You won’t get in trouble for seeking medical help – call for help if something feels wrong

Get your drugs tested!  Only a very small amount is needed approximately 10mg (0.01g)
