Ketamine analogues recently detected in NSW

Ketamine analogues copy ketamine’s chemical makeup but can produce different effects, including stronger dissociation or hallucinatory episodes.
Recent detections in NSW include:
2′-fluoro-2-oxo-PCE in white powder and crystal that was expected to be ketamine only, or amphetamine.
2-oxo-PCE in a white powder that was expected to be ketamine only.

Know the risks
- You are at increased risk of harm if you:
- Use ketamine analogues with depressant drugs (such as alcohol, GHB, benzos or opioids). This could increase the risk of sedation and disorientation.
- Use ketamine analogues with stimulants (such as methamphetamine, MDMA). This could increase the risk of anxiety
- The time from taking the drug to feeling any effect can vary significantly depending on the drug as well as the individual person. If you experience unexpected effects, it is not safe to re-dose.
- The amount of active drug in a batch can vary significantly.
Effects to look out for
- Hallucinations.
- Impaired coordination.
- Racing heart/pulse or light-headedness.
- Rigid muscles (e.g., difficulty walking), uncontrolled repetitive movements, seizures.
- Confusion or agitation, feeling aggressive, difficult to rouse or unconscious.
- Vomiting.
If you or others experience these symptoms, get help immediately.
Getting help
If you or your friends see the warning signs of overdose:
- Seek help immediately from your nearest emergency department or call Triple Zero (000). You won’t get into trouble for seeking medical care.
- Start CPR if someone is not responsive.
