What is DOI?

DOI (2,5-dimethoxy-4-iodoamphetamine) is a potent, long lasting psychedelic drug.

If you are expecting LSD but take DOI, effects may be longer and less predictable than expected.

DOI is often reported as being a challenging experience compared to LSD.

Onset can be 1-3 hours.

Duration of action can be 18-30 hours.

In some cases, it can raise blood pressure and constrict blood vessels.

If planning on taking a psychedelic:

• Always have a trusted trip-sitter present. You may not be able to move, understand that you are at risk or be able call for help
• Trip-sitter must know the recovery position in case of vomiting
• Set and setting matter enormously. Be in a familiar, comfortable environment with people you trust
• Start with a very low dose and don’t re-dose if effects are slow to come on.

Other harm reduction tips:

• Test your substances so you know exactly what you are working with
• Redosing too quickly can lead to an overdose
• Avoid mixing with other drugs:
  • Mixing with other drugs (particularly stimulants) can increase strain on the heart
  • Avoid mixing with lithium or tramadol as this may increase seizure risk
